It's time for Research and Planning for our Trip on the Danube!

It’s time to get excited now!  We’re only a couple of months away from our river cruise on the Blue Danube!  It seems like ages since we made our reservation for this trip in July 2018!  Having been on one river cruise from Paris to Amsterdam a few years ago, I’m now ready to embark on another European river adventure.  My traveling companions, hubby Ken and our mascot, stuffed monkey Elliott, will be coming along for the fun, as will several couples from our area.

Elliott has been cruising with me since 2006, so this is his 13th year of cruising! He was born in the jungles/rain forests of Panama and adopted by me. He loves shipboard activities... you may see him at the disco, karaoke bar, lounging by the pool, or even in the dining room (he is partial to bananas)...Give him a big holler when you see him!  It will make him smile.

The Blue Danube Discovery - Budapest to Prague

September 8, 2019 is the date; Avalon's new Envision is the ship! I'm excited about a river cruise tour on the legendary Danube for this 12 night trip from Budapest to Prague. Though I have traveled more than 1/2 the world, I have never been to Budapest, Prague, or Vienna; so this cruise is the cat's meow for me!  This itinerary includes 2 nights in Budapest before embarking the ship, and 2 nights following the cruise in Prague.  In addition to Budapest and Prague, highlights of the cruise include Vienna with overnight docking, Durnstein, Melk, Passau, Regensburg, Roth, and Nuremberg.  We will wander through story book villages, fairy tale castles, medieval fortresses, museums, concert halls, and more.  The scenic beauty along the Danube can be experienced right from your stateroom with an open air balcony or from atop your ship at the Sky Deck.  Amazing, food, wine, and beer will entice your taste buds.  Some included amenities are all meals onboard ship; sparkling wine with breakfast; wine, beer, and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; shore excursions with a choice of classic, discovery, or active sightseeing options; luxurious staterooms with hotel beds and L'Occitane bath products.
